The 1st Nordic Health Tourism Summmit took place in Helsinki on 1.-2.3.2024. The event was organized by KiwiMedi. Medical Tourism Association Finland had a presentation of Finland as medical travel destination and member companies Clinic Helena and Wellnify had their own booth at summit. Mr Metin Seref, CEO of KiwiMedi Oy shares his thoughts about medical tourism and digitalisation with us.
Actually, the demand of the people of the world is very simple; They will continue to travel to various parts of the world to improve their health outside their own country and to quickly access reliable, quality health services and find economic solutions.
Today, thanks to innovative digital platforms, people can access health services more consciously and easily than ever before. The health tourism sector is experiencing a great change and development with the influence of technology.
At this point, what will shape the future of health tourism is that all actors in the sector work together and come together around a common vision.
The topics that are among the targets of the international treatment search platform Kiwimedi.com are as follows.
- Promoting the health tourism potential in destinations and raising awareness among relevant stakeholders
- Introducing hospitals and clinics participating in the platform to representatives of healthcare institutions in Europe and potential audiences seeking treatment abroad.
- Increasing health tourism mobility through B2B and B2C meetings
- Making economic contribution to all sectors
In line with this goal, we are happy to organize the 1st Nordic health tourism summit in Helsinki, with the valuable support of the Finnish medical tourism association, to introduce the Finnish health tourism destination, opportunities, health tourism potential and to raise awareness of Finland, says Mr Metin Seref.
There were 18 exhibitor companies from Finland, UK, Germany, Turkey, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Canada at two days BtoB event. Among participiants there were hospitals, doctors and other medical and health professionals, entrepreneurs, health startup companies and health tourism agencies.
